In 2023, the living trend in the United Kingdom is a move toward a more minimalist lifestyle. More people moving into apartment buildings and high-rise apartments as opposed to detached homes.

With this shift, families are going to have less space and less need for large wardrobes and large closets, so they will be buying fewer clothes and other items that require storage space. However, they're also likely to be more conscious of their carbon footprint, which means they may be shopping for eco-friendly clothing options that take up less room in their wardrobe.

The environmental aspect of this living trend comes from people's desire to reduce their carbon footprint. Living naturally means eating locally grown foods and using natural products instead of chemicals or unnatural ingredients. People are also making conscious changes to minimize their energy consumption by switching out light bulbs for energy efficient ones or even going so far as installing solar panels on their homes to generate their own electricity.

What is the Living Room Trend in 2023

The living room is a place of reflection.

It's the space where you can feel comfortable expressing who you really are, and how you want to feel.

It's also a place of expectation and pressure to impress.

The living room has always been a favourite space, but in recent years it had become more of a showcase than a place in which we could be our true selves.

Over the past tumultuous few years of change that have seen our homes working harder than ever, the living room is transforming into a place in which we can be ourselves and express who we really are and how we really want to feel.

#1 Bouclé fabric

When you're decorating your living room, think texture.

Achieving a rich, inviting space is all about creating an inviting environment that feels cozy and comfortable. The key to this is texture—not only in the materials you use, but also in how they look and feel.

Bouclé fabric is a great way to add texture to your living room without sacrificing style or comfort. Its thick, textured weave adds depth and dimension to any room, making it perfect for use as curtains or upholstery in a living room setting.

#2 Curated ware

By displaying our curated goods around our home, we can show off what makes us unique and express our style through a variety of items. It's no longer about just having one thing displayed. Now it's about being able to display multiple items at once.

The idea behind this is that we want to show off our curated collection of items that we have personally selected, or hand-picked, as opposed to displaying a random mix of things. We want people to see the effort and time we put into the things we own, and how much thought we've put into each item.

It's about taking pride in what you own and showing others what you love.

#3 Blue

Blue is the new red.

Colours are always changing, but blue is one of the big ones coming in to living rooms in 2023. It's going to be seen in many different shades and forms, from pale turquoise to deep navy.

Blue can be a calming and serene colour, or it can be bold and dramatic—it's all about how you use it. If you want to create an understated look, try pairing blue with neutral shades like white, grey, or black.

If you're looking for something more exciting, consider using a bright blue in your room's decorating scheme. If you have a lot of natural light coming into your home or apartment, this will help infuse your space with vibrancy and life.

#4 Accessories

The accessories you choose have a huge impact on how your home feels. In 2023, it's all about styling them like a professional.

Whether it's making a room feel more welcoming or adding some flair to a room that needs a boost, accessories are the perfect way to bring some personality into your home. And this year, we're seeing more than ever that people are ready to take their accessory game up a notch.

The key is finding the right balance between decorative pieces and practical ones. You want to be able to show off your personal style without having too much stuff hanging around everywhere—you can't always be cleaning up after yourself!
