As a landlord hearing voids is something you don't want to hear.

If the property has been sitting for too long, it can be hard to rent out and make money. If you're dealing with this issue, there are some things you can do to help get your property back up on its feet. Not only do they mean extra work for you, but they can also hurt your reputation as an owner and lead to less income.

To help ensure your property is not lost in the crowd of similar properties on the internet, here are five ways to make it stand out.

  1. Find the reason

Find out why there are voids. Is the location not in the best neighborhood? Is there something about the room itself that's causing the problem? There could be any number of reasons why people aren't renting your property, so make sure you know what's going on before you try to fix it.

Have a good understanding of what your target market wants, so that you can make sure there's a good match between them and your property.

  1. Make sure that your property is well-presented

Get rid of anything that might make renters feel unsafe or uncomfortable in your home. This includes things like moldy walls or broken windows that let bugs in—but also things like old mattresses and broken furniture that just look bad and can lower your chances of getting good tenants who will stay for years at a time.

Potential renters will want to see a clean house with no clutter, so that they can imagine themselves living there. If it looks like you haven't cleaned up in months, they'll be turned off immediately—and they won't even bother looking at your other features.

Similarly, if you're selling your home, buyers will also be turned off by a dirty home. They'll think that you don't take care of yourself (or the things around you), which means that they probably won't trust that you'll take care of their investment once they buy it from you.

The best way to do this is by hiring a professional cleaning company to do the work for you. The company will be able to provide all of the necessary tools and equipment needed to get the job done right away, ensuring that your property looks its best when potential tenants come by for a tour or viewing.

  1. Get a Good Lettings Agent

Hire a good lettings agent! A good lettings agent will not only help keep your property filled, but they will also make sure you have happy tenants who pay their rent on time and take care of the house itself.

To find a Good Letting Agent

  • Ask friends and family who have rented properties whether they used an agent when they were looking for somewhere new to live; if so, what was their experience like? Did they find someone who was helpful and communicative throughout the process?
  • Look at reviews online from other people who have hired agents; these are often more reliable than testimonials from companies themselves

  1. Take Good Photos

Your property ads can be the difference between filled and void.

When you're letting a property, you want to do everything you can to make sure it let as quickly as possible for as much money as possible. One of the most important factors in achieving this is having high-quality photos of the property.

Research shows that property ads with high-quality photos get better results than those with low-quality photos. You can often see the difference in quality between photos, not just in the quality of the photo itself but also in the quality of the photographer.

Just as great writing requires strong research, so does great photography. A good photographer will know how to capture exactly what makes a property special and unique, whether it's a beautiful view from an upstairs window or an opportunity for plenty of storage space in an unfinished basement.

  1. Good Ad Description

Good description when advertising the property for rent is important. The description of the property is the first thing that a potential tenant will see and it should be as accurate as possible. It should also give some idea of what the property looks like and what amenities are available.

The property description should include information about whether or not there is parking available, whether pets are allowed and if there are any storage facilities on site. If there are any restrictions on tenants using certain facilities or parking spaces this should also be included in the description.

Describing a property accurately will help to attract more suitable tenants and avoid any misunderstandings later on.
