News

The UK started its third national lockdown last 5th January 2021 due to the rising cases of Covid-19. And all primary and secondary schools were forced to close.

As several parents, juggling from working from home and making sure that their children keep on top of their educations can sometimes be overwhelming.

We have list 5 tips to make it easier on how to work from home and at the same time homeschooling your kids.

#1 Be organized

Being organized is important to make successful homeschooling. It begins with having a plan. You must know what your kids want to learn and make it as fun as possible. So, you have to plan and schedule activities that you know that your kid will enjoy and at the same time learn from it.

#2 Make a routine
Inconsistency will make your life harder if you are working from home and at the same time homeschooling your kids. Thus, it is important to make a routine. In this way, you’ll have a schedule to follow.

For example, the day would be started by making their beds. And after that, breakfast and cleaning up the breakfast. After breakfast, you may start to have a meeting with them on what will be your plans or activities on that day, what your kids need on their online classes, etc.

If your child knows what to expect then there will be a better homeschooling experience.

#3 Give your kids activities and tools to use when they must wait for your attention.

Leave out the things that you want your kids to access and use, then take out the thing you do not want them to use without your supervision.

#4 Set up an area in the house for learning

Setting up an area for homeschooling is important. It doesn’t need to look like a classroom. The goal of having a space for homeschooling is to have comfort and to increase the focus of your kid with the lessons that you are teaching. It could be a corner of a room, a study table, or a dining table.

#5 Don’t be hard on yourself and be flexible.

Even though you have already created a schedule on that day, life with kids will not go all things as planned, causing your scheduled work hours to shrink. So, in situations like this, don’t be too hard on yourself.

Remember to relax. During this stressful time, homeschooling can be overwhelming, so just relax. There could be times that your child may lack attention. It is part of it, and it happens. Homeschooling is not only for our kids to learn but it is a learning process for parents as well.
