Selling

Konmari Method is the goal to tidy and declutter your home. It is a method started by Marie Kondo, an award-winning author, and professional cleaning consultant.

Konmari Method is useful no matter where you reside, it can be an essential method in preparing your house for selling. So how to prepare your house for sale using Konmari Method?

Tidying Up for Viewings by Clearing Personal Items and Décor

When sellers list their house one of the biggest challenges is decluttering their house. It can be tough when buyers walk into a home covered with too much of personal items and other personal touches. The home may not get the wow factor that it should bring.

Clearing personal space and limiting personalized décor will make a place more attractive to buyers. It gives them more way to imagine themselves in the house. Although bare walls may look uncomfortable, you may try staging generic decors without putting too much on them.

Identify Problem Areas

When selling your house, first impressions make a difference! Thus, before you or your real estate agent starts to take photographs of the house or arrange a session with a photographer to take photos of the house, ensure to tour your home with fresh eyes. Look for any defects that a buyer might see. When you begin uncovering the areas in your house, you will start to see areas that need more attention. It is better to fix the problem right away before you sell them.

Keeping the house clean

With too many things, the house can look so messy. Some people think that they do not have to clean dishes or wash their laundry right away because they still have so much waiting in the cupboard or clothes in the closet.

By choosing only the items that bring joy to you, you will be able to cut the items in your house. By doing this, it becomes much easier to keep your home clean when you have fewer things in your house.

And when you are selling your house to move to a larger or smaller house, only bring items that you need most and items that bring a spark of joy for you. This will help you cut down on items that you move.
