Being a landlord can be tough. You're responsible for all kinds of things, from making sure your tenants are paying their rent on time to keeping the property in good shape. And if you're like most landlords, you don't have a lot of time on your hands.

As the year comes to a close, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for being such a great landlord. Your tenants are lucky to have you and we know you do your best to keep your properties in great shape.

We've put together a list of ways that landlords can be heroes this coming 2023:

  1. Be kind and make sure you communicate with your tenants.

As a landlord, one of the things that will go a long way towards building your business is being kind to your tenants. When you are kind and respectful, it helps increase their loyalty, which means they'll be more likely to pay on time and take care of the property.

You can also try communicating with your tenants by sending them text messages or emails letting them know when their rent is due. It's easier than having them call you because it saves you from having to answer questions about the rent or anything else that might come up during the day!

  1. Make sure you're offering services that are helpful for your tenants—things like cleaning services or pest control.

If you're running a rental property, you might be tempted to focus on the bottom line: making sure the rent checks are coming in and the place is clean.

But there's more to it than that. Your tenants are human beings with lives and needs, just like you. And if they aren't happy with their living situation, they're going to find somewhere else to live—fast.

That's why it's important to offer services that make your tenants' lives easier—like cleaning or pest control—alongside the rent checks.

  1. Think about how much notice you give for rent increases and maintenance issues. Do you need more time?

When it comes to rent increases, you may want try to give you as much notice as possible—but sometimes things happen that can't be predicted. You may want to make sure you're always aware of what's going on in the apartment area so we'll send out notices when there are any upcoming changes.

  1. Make sure your property is well-maintained so it won't need as much maintenance in the future!

Maintaining your property in good condition is one of the best ways to avoid future maintenance costs. By keeping your property up-to-date and well-maintained, you won't need to worry about unexpected repairs or replacements down the line.

Maintain contact with your tenants about any issues with the house or apartment in order to prevent them from getting worse and costing more money to fix later on down the line.
