Landlord

When it comes to filling the vacancies on letting properties, it is important to attract the most qualified tenants who can stay long term and pay the rent on time. A large number of millennials are renting in the UK and are expecting to rent for the rest of their lives.

What are the benefits of attracting millennials? How to provide appeal to your rental property for the millennials?

Here are some tips on how to attract millennial renters to your letting property.

1. Prioritize Aesthetics

Usually, millennials tend to align the look of where they live with their own styles. If you are planning to attract millennials, you can focus on having open floor plans, bright lighting, and neutral wall and ceiling colours.

When offering a property fully furnished, consider furnishing with clean lines and modern aesthetics, which could actually make the space look bigger. Keep the decorations to a minimum and stay in line with your theme. Colour palettes can be distracting and make the property look updated.

Some of the main things that millennials look for in a property are:

Minimalism
Modern Kitchens
Space-efficient floor plans

2. Promote Energy Efficiency

Millennials put emphasis and importance on things that are beneficial to the environment. If you have energy-efficient appliances in your letting property, it is worth promoting when marketing the property online, if your goal is to attract millennials.

3. Market the neighborhood

Another important thing to remember when promoting the property to millennials is to include detailed information about the neighborhood of the property.

Usually, millennials want to feel proud of where they live and they would want to know what is available to do and see in the neighborhood.

Millennials are usually looking for convenience and they would want to be near essentials such as restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, and other cultural stuff. If you want to make the biggest impact, make sure to include things like local markets and proximity to major landmarks and transportation links.

4. Allow Pets

A lot of millennials are pet owners. They are looking for properties that will welcome their furry buddies. By accepting pets, your property is more likely to be attractive to this generation of renters.
You may also want to add amenities to your property to help pet owners.
The millennial generation is really one of the most significant demographic of renters in the UK. If your property is more attractive to millennials, there will be more options to rent to qualified tenants.
